Choosing the right code utility

Use QR Code Scanner when you want to read a QR code from your camera or an image. It shows the decoded content for you to review before opening a link or taking another action.

Choose QR Code Check when you have a saved QR image and want to examine whether it can be decoded, together with basic technical details such as its version and module count. It is an image-based inspection tool, not a camera scanner.

Checking QR codes before sharing

Test the final code rather than only the preview used to create it. Printing, resizing or placing it on a screen can affect readability. Try the intended size, lighting and scanning distance with a suitable device; a successful image decode alone does not reproduce those conditions.

Review the decoded text or address as well as the scan result. Neither utility performs a security analysis of a linked website or guarantees that it is safe or available. Check that the destination is the one you intend to share.
